Intro-Statement
This page is not a political statement. It is a procurement decision.
Every tool listed below runs somewhere in the infrastructure of this site and my daily work. Each one was chosen on merit first — and, where a European provider matched the requirement, the choice was European. Not because of ideology, but because of a simple architectural principle: sovereignty is something you practice, not something you label.
Data protection by architecture, not by consent banners. The list is dated and will evolve — knowledge has a shelf life, and so does infrastructure.
The Tools
Mistral AI — France 🇫🇷
Role: AI models & daily assistant (Le Chat, API).
Principle: EU-developed, EU-hosted inference. The text layer of this project runs on European infrastructure by default, not by exception.
Brevo — France 🇫🇷 (German office: Berlin)
Role: Newsletter & chapter notifications for the online book.
Principle: Double opt-in, EU-hosted subscriber data. The book subscription list lives on European servers — owned infrastructure for an owned audience.
urlr.me — France 🇫🇷 (Orléans)
Role: URL shortener with branded domain.
Principle: EU hosting, ALTCHA captcha instead of Google reCAPTCHA. Short links under my own domain — the destination stays under my control, changeable at any time.
EuroMetrics QR-Generator — Portugal 🇵🇹
Role: QR code generation (client-side).
Principle: 100 % client-side — the data entered never leaves the browser, no server contact. Privacy by architecture, demonstrated down to the code level.
Prifobu Forms — Germany 🇩🇪
Role: Contact & Readiness-Check forms (WordPress plugin).
Principle: No storage of entries (email-only delivery), no tracking, no third-party services, spam protection without reCAPTCHA (honeypot / time-trap / math captcha). The form that sends the least data is the most sovereign one.
ALTCHA — Europe 🇪🇺
Role: Captcha alternative to Google reCAPTCHA.
Principle: No tracking, no external data flows. Proof that accessibility and privacy are not a trade-off.
Known Exceptions (ungeschönt, aber nicht hart — Rob-Stil)
A list like this is only credible if it names what is not European. So, for full transparency:
- WordPress — US-based foundation, but open source and self-hosted: the code runs on my server, no US data flow by architecture.
- HeyGen — US-based, used for the AI-generated book videos. No European provider currently matches the avatar/video capability. Documented openly in every video (“AI-generated, based on my photo, my voice clone”), in line with EU AI Act transparency rules.
- Gemini — US-based, used selectively as content creator. On the list to be reviewed.
The principle is not “EU-only”. It is: European by default, exceptions documented, architecture always sovereign.
